HTC predicts 20% revenue growth for Q2

April 29, 2016

Taiwan-based High Tech Computer (HTC), the world’s leading smartphone manufacturer, is projecting its revenues for the second quarter to rise 20% on year.

The company’s first quarter revenues increased 39% on year, with net income for the quarter totalling NT$6.9 billion (US$227 million), an increase of 24% on year.

Second quarter revenues are expected to exceed NT$34 million ($1.12 billion), an increase of 20% on year, but only 4% on quarter.

The poor on-quarter growth is being attributed to a delay in launching new products.

HTC recently announced a shareholder’s dividend for 2015 of NT$37, dividing between NT$34 in cash, and NT$3 in shares.

The company also issued NT$10.32 million of shares in bonuses to its employees, and cash bonuses of NT$1.12 billion.
